Blue Balloons
The beginning of this research took merely a few seconds.
The initial experience of seeing a certain image moving about in the distance directed my attention towards a research project on the subject of balloons. The genesis for creating the images for Blue Balloons [12'11''] took place in the middle of the summer of 2006 on one of the islands of Cycladic where before my eyes (from the observer’s point of view) a completely random scene had suddenly unfolded. Slightly in the distance from the sea, approaching the beach of Έξω Γιαλός [Exo Giolos], on the barely visible horizon line, I saw two moving points. At first I thought these to be heads of divers. I was surprised however at the pace and speed with which they were approaching each other and the shore as well, soon enough I realized that the two points were in fact not heads of divers at all, but two blue balloons connected by way of fishing line. Placing myself closer to the sea, I captured the situation with my camera, becoming thereby an observer of a situation in progress.
From 2006 until present-day many hours have been spent filming balloons in different circumstances, places, and situations...

Niebieskie balony
Dwa niebieskie balony połączone żyłką
Początek tego poszukiwania zajął zaledwie kilku sekund.
W środku lata 2006 roku podczas pobytu na jednej z cykladzkich wysp, przed moimi oczami rozwinęła się zupełnie przypadkowa scena. W oddali, w głębi morza przemieszczały się jakieś punkty, które obserwowałam z lądu. W tym czasie zbliżałam się do plaży Έξω Γιαλός [Exo Gialos], początkowo potraktowałam te punkty jako głowy nurków, jednak zdziwiło mnie tempo ich poruszania się. Wkrótce zdałam sobie sprawę, że nie są to głowy nurków, ale dwa niebieskie balony połączone żyłką. Zdarzenie to sfilmowałam za pomoca mojej kamery.
Od tego czasu temat balonu stał sie punktem odniesienia w pracy artystycznej. -
Μπλε μπαλόνια
Ο πειραματισμός της Εντύτα Μώνσιορ με το θέμα του μπαλονιού στη τέχνη ξεκίνησε από ένα τυχαίο συμβάν, το καλοκαίρι του 2006, όταν ξαφνικά αντιλήφθηκε στον ορίζοντα ένα αναπάντεχο συμβάν, που κατέγραψε με την κάμερα της. Έτσι έγινε αποδέκτης μιας εικόνας, η οποία συμπυκνωνόταν στην ύπαρξη δυο απομακρυσμένων σημείων στην επιφάνεια της θάλασσας. Αρκετά μακριά, στο βάθος, επέπλεαν δύο μπλε μπαλόνια δεμένα με πετονιά, τα οποία αρχικά φάνηκαν ως κεφάλια δυτών.
Κι όμως η αρχή αυτής της αναζήτησης έλαβε χώρα μέσα σε ορισμένα κλάσματα του δευτερολέπτου.
Το μπαλόνι σαν μέσο και θέμα στη τέχνη την απασχολεί από τότε.
